HOW TO STRETCH TAPESTRY FABRIC ON CHIPBOARD.
There are many different ways to enhance home decor with tapestry. This guide explains how to stretch tapestry on a chipboard. You could decorate with stretched tapestry the same way as with framed tapestry, but it is relatively budget friendlier. Final piece can be hung on a wall or placed on desks, dressers and shelves.
Step 1. Tapestries come in many different sizes, shapes, subjects and colors. Choose the one that suits your personality, decor style and color pattern for the decorating area. Measure the length and width of tapestry fabric.
Step 2. Cut chipboard sheet to the size 1 inch smaller than fabric on each side. Then cut another exactly the same piece of chipboard and glue both sheets together. This increase of thickness is needed to enable the use of smallest 1/4 inch staples. Instead of full second sheet you could use just partial pieces 1-2 inches wide and glue them to the edges of original sheet.
Step 3. Wrap the chipboard sheet with fabric using a staple gun (loaded with 1/4 in. staples) - attach edges of the fabric to the back side of the board. Start from the middle of longer side, then do the opposite side, then other two sides, leave corner job for the end.
Step 4. Attach hanging hardware if you want to display tapestry on a wall. This could be no nail tooth hanger that you just need to hammer to the top edge of the board.
